David Minchin und Chris Cassidy

David Minchin aus Tasmanien hatte mit den australischen Bands BEATHOVEN (Shy Girl) und THE INNOCENTS (Sooner Or Later) zwei weltweite Charterfolge. Er tourte mit AC/DC, Crowded House, Icehouse, Moddy Blues, u.v.a. In Deutschland kennt man ihn von den SILVERBEATLES mit denen er einige Jahre unterwegs war. David gilt als einer der besten Beatles-Interpreten weltweit und wird daher von der BBC regelmäßig für Jubiläumskonzerte eingeladen )z.B. Abbey Road in LOndon)- Der Profimusiker ist auch Songschreiber und arbeitet u.a. für Netflix-  Chris Cassidy, der irische Sänger,der  in Bochum-Langendreer lebt, ist kongenialer Partner von David. Zusammen können ad hoc mehr als 300 Songs präsentieren. Besonders emotional wird es, wenn er seine eigenen Lieder (Amy oder Window Shopping) vorträgt, die von persönlichen Erlebnissen erzählen.

Chris Cassidy, der irische Sänger, der  in Bochum-Langendreer lebt, ist kongenialer Partner von David. Zusammen können sie ad hoc mehr als 300 Songs präsentieren. Besonders emotional wird es, wenn er seine eigenen Lieder (Amy oder Window Shopping) vorträgt, die von persönlichen Erlebnissen erzählen.

Tasmania.

He was the founding member of the legendary band, Beathoven, who had a top ten hit

In 1978 in Australia titled Shy Girl. The same year they were nominated as best new group,

Touring with Roy Orbison, AC /DC, Little River Band and Steptoe and Son.

Discovered by legendary Rock svengali, Kim Fowley (The Runaways, The Beach Boys, Alice Cooper etc) , they changed their name to The Innocents

And released what is considered ‘the most pristine example of power pop music ever recorded’( Nick Lowe): titled Sooner or Later (1980) and they appeared with Rocky Burnette (son of rock and roller Johnny Burnette)

on the famous ABC TV show Countdown performing to several million people.(You Tube)

During the 80s and 90s they toured with Split Enz, The Sweet, The Moody Blues and recreated The Beatles final rooftop appearance on the 30th and 50th anniversary.

They branched into other careers as teachers and songwriters finally returning to touring in 2000

When they were invited to appear at the Troubadour in LA for the International Pop Overthrow festival with Nancy Sinatra, The Knack, The Cowshills and The Rubinoos.

Further invitations followed for the South by South West in Austen Texas.

They released a double CD titled No Hit Wonders from Down Under featuring all their archival recordings and releases.

In 2007 and 2008 the Innocents toured the UK, Germany and Japan…..appearing at

The Liverpool IPO where they headlined, the Hamburg Sound Festival where they appeared and performed alongside Astrid Kirscher, Cynthia Lennon and Klaus Voorman and Spencer Davis. They also recorded

an entire LP in a day at the famous Abbey Rd studios in London.

Their CD , Pop Factory, was released and featured two film clips now on You Tube….

Nothing stays the Same and I Wouldn’t Have it Any Other Way (which won the popular contemporary award at the Florence Film Festival in 2007).

Minchin relocated to Germany in 2009 to lecture at the University of Osnabrueck

And in 2019 he was invited to help organise and perform for the 50th anniversary of the Beatles last concert at 3 Saville Row London…and also for the 50th anniversary of the Abbey Rd release, where they appeared on the crossing and performed the Abbey Rd LP in Camden the same afternoon…making news all around the world.

He has written songs for movies and TV shows, including The Saddle Club which was released in 35 countries and earned Minchin his first European hit in France.

He has recorded 90 original songs which he will begin releasing next year.

He has also collaborated with an Irish singer Chris Cassidy and and English keyboardist Eric Richards in Bochum over the past few years.

He also works solo performing rock and pop classics, but has freelanced in this duo/ trio….and previously he has toured Germany with extensively with The German Beatles tribute show…The Silver Beatles between 2010 and 2013.
